Hello fellow brothers from Epsilon Alpha,
Jack and I hope you have all been well so far in 2024! We know we haven’t posted in a while, but we hope to change the tide on that soon. For Jack? He’s been busy with his graduate program at Clemson and that has been his focus. For me? I’ve had some personal Sinfonian conflicts I’ll be happy to go over perhaps in a future post.
We’re not here to talk about us though, we want to share some big news to you about Epsilon Alpha and how you can help. In case if you’re not aware, the National Fraternity’s Commission on Standards placed a moratorium on all initiations for every chapter across the country. If this is the first time you’ve heard about this, we completely understand since it was not shared too heavily with alumni.
This impacts our chapter because there are 4 probationary and 1 honorary member that will soon be ready for initiation into our beloved fraternity. Because of this moratorium, they are not allowed to initiate them without meeting some requirements! Here are the requirements from Chapter President Ben Doepker received that he shared with the brothers:
In order for the PM process to continue in regards to nationals a couple of things need to be done.
Firstly, every collegiate brother must complete the RMA with a PASSING SCORE, I will attach a link to the end of this.
Secondly, EA needs to be in good standing with the national fraternity (we currently are, yay!), but our chapter report is currently stuck at ‘Waiting for FA approval’ and I’ll be communicating to Dr. Stumbo to get this completed.
Lastly, [Dave Friday] needs to meet with the current probationary class to insure that they are all eligible for membership, this will be happening at our next PM meeting on Friday (so long as that works for him).
WHAT I NEED FROM YOU: If you have not passed the RMA you must complete it again and send me a screenshot that you have passed it (It must have the part that says that you passed or a score of 90% and above).
What is RMA?
The RMA, or Risk Management Assessment, is brand new training for all collegiate brothers of the fraternity. The goal of this training is to reduce all risk within the organization and help protect it as a whole. This will educate and ensure that all brothers know what they can and cannot do.
The sooner the chapter completes this step, the more likely they are to be able to initiate the 5 gentlemen into our fraternity. They are being pushed to finish this step as soon as possible!
Where do you come in?
This is our call to action from alumni! Show your support for the Epsilon Alpha chapter to encourage all collegiate brothers to complete this step! Alumni brothers are being asked to match $50 if the brothers can complete this step by the end of the week! So far, we have 4 brothers pledging to donate at least up to the match to encourage the brothers! Can we add your name?
